What insurance providers do you work with?
I am contracted with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. I can work with clients with other insurance as an out-of-network provider and provide a billing statement for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Alternatively, clients who do not wish to go through their insurance, can pay out-of-pocket.
how do I know what my coverage is?
Clients should always contact their insurance plans to determine coverage. You may have a deductible to meet before insurance begins to cover the services, or you may have a co-pay or co-insurance. You can ask about your Out-Patient Mental Health benefits. If you have BCBS PPO, I can also check benefits for you as well.
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are typically 50-55 minutes in length. The first session may be a bit longer to gather more history and answer initial questions you may have.
How frequent are sessions?
Sessions are usually scheduled on a weekly basis to foster the development of the therapeutic relationship and to facilitate progress on therapeutic goals. The therapist and client may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of sessions based on individual needs and progress. As the client makes progress, sessions are usually decreased.
What if I am not sure about starting therapy or if we would be a good fit?
I am happy to offer phone consultation to answer any questions you may have about starting therapy and my practice style. It is also typical for the first session or two to be an assessment of needs and to determine if the therapist is the right one for you. It is important to ask any questions and bring up any concerns you have about the therapeutic relationship and the process.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I currently accept cash, check, or online bank transfer. Payment for self-pay clients or deductible payments are expected at the time of service. A billing arrangement for co-payments or co-insurance can be made on a bi-monthly or monthly basis if preferred by the client.
What if I need to cancel?
Clients are expected to provide at least 24 hours notice if the need to cancel arises. Part of the therapeutic process is maintaining a dedicated time for you and other clients so that sessions can be consistent. I understand that unexpected emergencies or illnesses do arise for all of us. If that is the case, please let me know.
